Lake Chelan State Park, nine miles west of the City of Chelan, takes its name from the Salish Native American tribe. The Chelan people's winter camping grounds were where the town now stands.

Water sports are the big draw here. There’s a boat launch and dock. Fishing, swimming and scuba diving are also popular.

The park has 144 standard campsites, including 17 with water, electricity and sewer, and 17 with just water and electricity. The remainder are tent sites. There are four comfort stations, one of which remains open for winter campers.

There are more than 50 picnic sites, a playground, bathhouse and 330 feet of beach.

In winter, sledding is a favorite activity at the park.

There is a parking fee charged.
