Half Moon State Park is located within Bomoseen State Forest. Set in dense woods in a small sheltered basin, the park surrounds Half Moon Pond.
The park is for camping only, and there are no day-use facilities. Campsites at water's edge and under the shelter of the trees allow campers to fall asleep listening to the sounds of lake and forest. A camping fee is charged.
About five miles of hiking trails run to High Pond and into the state forest. Although swimming is limited to certain areas, fishing and boating are allowed. Boat rentals are available.
The park is located on Moscow Road in Hubbardton.
