Emerald Lake State Park is a 430-acre park along the side of Dorset Mountain. Emerald Lake and the headwaters of Otter Creek are at the base of the mountain.
Marble quarrying once took place in the area and the park's lands also hosted a farm and a summer retreat before the park was established in 1960.
The 105 campsites, including 36 lean-tos, sit on the heavily wooded ridge above Emerald Lake. Camping facilities include flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station.
The hiking trails weave around and ascend Dorset Mountain. The lake is open to swimming, fishing and boating. Motor boats are not allowed.
