The Lake Elmore area, in southeastern Lamoille County, is covered with lush green trees and pastureland surrounded by mountains.
The lake covers 500 acres and empties into the Lamoille River through Pond Brook. Elmore Mountain, which forms part of the Worcester Range, is covered in hardwood timber and has an elevation of 2,608 feet. Hiking trails lead to the top where one of the few remaining fire towers in the state can be climbed.
In 1936, the town of Elmore donated 30 acres of lakefront property to the state of Vermont. Today, more than 700 acres have been added to form this beautiful park.
The park has 45 tent sites and 15 lean-tos. A picnic shelter, playground, concession and rest rooms are available at the day use area.
Biking is allowed on park roads only.
