Located on the eastern shore of Lake Dunmore at the base of Mount Moosalamoo, Branbury State Park was once a farm at the turn of the century.
The 69-acre park is divided in two by Route 53. Twenty-nine campsites are available in a wooded area and 17 others are located in a grassy knoll near the beach. Flush toilets, hot showers for a nominal fee and a dump station are provided.
A sandy natural beach gives visitors access to the clean, clear waters of Lake Dunmore. The park is popular for swimming, sunning, and picnicking.
Elsewhere at the park, hiking trails lead to scenic vistas, waterfalls, caves and mountain lakes and streams. There is also an interpretive nature trail.
Visitors fish and boat on Lake Dunmore and rowboat, canoe and paddleboat rentals are available.
The camping facilities are available from mid-May to October.
Park entry fees are charged from May to October, entry is free during the off-season.
