Wilgus State Park is one of the best launching sites for paddling and fishing along the Connecticut River. The 100-acre site includes a small camping area, canoe and kayak launch and rental, nature trails and picnic areas.
Several hiking trails weave through hemlock and hardwood to the top of a 600-foot summit, with broad views of the river and the New Hampshire countryside across the shore. The trails are also popular with snowshoers and skiers in winter.
Mount Ascutney trails and Summit Road are two miles away.
The state park provides access to the Hartland Rapids.
