Seyon Lodge State Park is known for its unique fly fishing opportunities and rustic lodge accommodations. It is a public version of a private trout club. There is limited access fly-fishing only, using barbless or crimped hooks, in this secluded and pristine setting.
It is part of Groton State Forest and is 20 minutes from several other state parks, including New Discovery, Big Deer, Stillwater, Ricker and Kettle Pond state parks that offer camping and hiking.
Nearby Boulder Beach State park hosts a nature and interpretive center.
Nestled alongside Noyes Pond and the eastern base of Spruce Mountain, Seyon is a natural habitat for squaretail trout. In addition to fly fishing, visitors enjoy nature observation and can view an occasional moose.
The recently-renotated lodge provides year-round lodging and meeting and conference space. It can accommodate weddings, business retreats and family reunions.
The lodge has private and semi-private sleeping quarters (one to four people in a room) with up to three meals a day. Seyon accommodates up to 16 overnight guests and 50 diners.
