Rainbow trout, walleye, perch, smallmouth and largemouth bass draw fishermen year-round to Deer Creek Reservoir in the Heber Valley.
Predictable canyon winds, on the other hand, draw sailors and windsurfers to the seven-mile-long reservoir.
Bordered by wildlife management property, Deer Creek attracts people hoping to catch a glimpse of an elk or deer. Occasionally, moose, black bears and mountain lions are spotted here.
Mountain biking is another popular activity here.
The Island Beach Area has a marina, where fishing and ski boats can be rented, and a swimming beach.
There's also a 75-site campground with modern restrooms, electricity, sewer hookups and showers.
