Twelve miles off U.S. Hwy. 89 near Kanab is the wide-sweeping expanse of Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park.
The 3,730-acre park is a wonderful place for riding off-highway vehicles, wildlife photography, hiking or simply playing in the sand.
A new handicapped-accessible ramp leading to the overlook and new restrooms were recently completed.
There is a unique nature trail that takes about 30 minutes to walk.
The park has a 22-unit pull-through campground, modern restrooms, showers, a waste disposal station and blacktop roads that are open year-round.
Nearby are Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks, the Escalante National Monument, Lake Powell and Kodachorme and Escalante state parks.
