Fremont Indian State Park and Museum was established to preserve Clear Creek Canyon's treasury of rock art and archaeological sites.
The museum in the visitor center has a video program on Fremont culture.
Twelve interpretive trails, one accessible to wheelchairs, lead visitors through a historical tour of the area's legends and history as depicted through pictographs and petroglyphs.
Visitors also enjoy fishing, horseback riding, hiking, camping and picnicking.
The 1,200-acre park is 5,900 feet above sea level and 21 miles southwest of Richfield off Interstate Hwy. 70 in central Utah.
Nearby are the Paiute Trail, one of the nation's largest and most diverse multiple-use trails, the popular fishing destination of Fish Lake, and Capital Reef National Park.
