For hiking, biking, camping or a scenic drive through the mountains, the remote Henry Mountains offer the best.
Visitors can drive the Bull Creek Pass Back Country Byway and see the Pink Cliffs, or view rock layers that tilt dramatically in the Waterpocket Fold.
The mountains are home to abandoned gold mines in their nooks and crannies and also are home to a wild bison herd. The bison were moved here during the 1940s and are now a popular attraction.
Services are limited, but there are three established campgrounds that charge for overnight camping. Wilderness camping is permitted elsewhere for free.
High elevations in the mountains are impassable from November to May.
