There are more than 50 miles of hiking trails in this 13,122-acre park in east central Tennessee. All of them ultimately lead to Frozen Head Mountain.
At 3,324 feet, Frozen Head is the park's tallest peak and one of the highest in the Cumberland Mountains. As the name suggests, Frozen Head often has snow when the lower elevations do not.
Campers can use 20 developed rustic sites or 10 backcountry sites, the latter by permit only.
A creek running through the park is stocked with trout for the fly fisher. Other diversions including mountain biking on a seven-mile trail and cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.
