With more than 7,000 acres of lush South Carolina wilderness, Caesars Head State Park is a hiking paradise.
About 48 miles of trails wind through the park, which is part of the Mountain Bridge Wilderness and Recreation Area, offering sweeping vistas of Table Rock, the far-off Blue Ridge Mountains and valleys below.
The trails connect to trails at adjacent Jones Gap State Park.
A two-mile hike leads to Raven Cliff Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in the East. The area's many streams provide excellent fishing.
Trailside camping is allowed by permit only.
Sightings of wild turkeys, black bears, white-tailed deer and bobcats are common.
