Located on the Lost Creek Reservoir in southwest Oregon, Joseph H. Stewart State Park is ideal for the water-recreation enthusiast.
The reservoir is stocked with trout, and native bass like to bite too. The park has a host of facilities for boaters and anglers, including a boat-trailer parking area, a marina with ample moorings, fuel, fish-cleaning facilities and a store.
A trail system runs through woods and along the reservoir and includes five miles of hiking trails and 5.5 miles of paved biking trails. The 977-acre park is on the Upper Rogue River Hiking Trail, which links to the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail near Crater Lake.
The 201-site campground was developed on the site of an early orchard, and some apple, pear and walnut trees remain. The campground is open from March through October.
Campsites and special facilities such as group picnic or group tent sites can be reserved by calling 800-452-5687.
The boat ramp is open year-round.
