The 12,500 acres of this resort park hug the shores of beautiful Lake Murray. Although the park offers a multitude of developed facilities, there are also wonderful trails to hike, including the Buckhorn Trail.
Connecting the resort lodge with Tipps Point Campground, the shoreline trail offers an excellent opportunity to see the park's diverse plants and wildlife. The trail is gently sloped and has two bridge crossings.
There is also a Civilian Conservation Corps trail built in the mid-1930s when the park was developed. This .3-mile trail begins near Buzzard Roost Campground, traverses a steep ridge, and enters the lower end of the campground.
The park supports a full range of water sports, as well as such games as tennis, archery, and 18-hole golf. There is also a riding stable, a radio-controlled model plane airstrip and a strip for life-size aircraft.
The park has 450 RV and tent campsites, a sanitary dump station, a grocery store and a restaurant.
