Lake Wister State Park

Set in the stunning mountains of southeastern Oklahoma, Wister State Park's vast forest of dogwood, northern spruce and ponderosa pine creates a remarkable palette of colors in spring and autumn.

More than 33,000 acres of state wildlife management land around the park includes a 2,000-acre waterfowl refuge. Other species found here are white-tailed deer, doves, quail, turkeys, rabbits and squirrels.

The 7,300-acre Lake Wister offers some of the finest fishing in Oklahoma with an abundance of northeastern bluegill, channel catfish, sand bass, and crappie.

Five camping areas offer 182 developed and primitive sites. There are also 15 cabins with fireplaces and a Nature Center.
