Arrowhead park is in the northern region of the historic Choctaw Republic, established in 1833. The Republic’s Constitution called for a Senate, a House of Representatives and an elected Principal chief.
The Choctaw Republic endured until Oklahoma gained statehood in 1907.
Arrowhead State Park preserves 2,202 acres along a prominent peninsula of Lake Eufaula.
Campsites accommodate RVs, tents and equestrians. An 18-hole golf mountaintop course offers beautiful views.
Fishing is good for crappie, bass, catfish and perch. There is also a boat ramp and marina. Swimming, water skiing, hiking, horseback riding and wildlife watching are also available.
There is a small lighted airstrip on the main park road just north of the golf course.
