Wellesley Island State Park was rated one of the nation's top 20 campgrounds by Family Circle magazine.
The park, with 21 miles of St. Lawrence River shoreline, offers wonderful campsites. Hookups include electrical service and there is an RV dump station. Winterized cabins and cottages are also available.
The 2,600-acre park has seven miles of trails for hiking, nature observation and cross-country skiing. The Seaway Trail, which is about 450 miles long, passes through the park.
The park offers motorized boat rentals, bait, tackle, ice and dock slips. It also has a nature center, and a 36-foot Voyageur canoe.
The park hosts a popular autumn festival.
The park is situated off Route 81, Exit 51, four miles west of Alexandria Bay.
