Taughannock Falls State Park

Taughannock Falls are the highest in the northeastern United States. At 215 feet, these falls are even higher than Niagara Falls, and are known for their beauty and power.

The falls have created a narrow gorge, whose must-see hiking trail is part of a five-mile network of hiking trails at Taughannock.

Swimming, boating, camping and fishing are all popular from spring to early fall. The park is especially beautiful during fall foliage season.

During winter, visitors enjoy snow shoeing, cross-country skiing and ice-skating.

The state park is on Cayuga Lake off Route 89, eight miles north of Ithaca.
