Chenango Valley, 13 miles north of Binghamton off Route 369, is a park of green valleys, clear lakes and diverse recreation.
Ten miles of hiking trails and four of biking trails are available, as well as eight miles of cross-country skiing trails. Ice-skating is a festive winter feature.
Camping is also a major activity here, and there are cabins nearby.
Characteristic of New York's Central Region and quite common in Chenango are "kettle" lakes, created when glaciers scoured this valley millions of years ago.
