Covering more than 600 acres, Wildwood State Park is one of 19 state parks on Long Island.
There are ballfields, beaches, 80 trailer sites with full hookup and 242 tent sites at the park. The campground is open from April to October.
Visitors enjoy surf fishing, 15 miles of hiking trails and picnicking at this park located just 73 miles from New York City.
There is one marked cross-country ski trail, but skiers can use any of the hiking trails in the park.
Among the resident wildlife are deer, muskrats, owls, hawks and bats.
