Abutting Massachusetts and Connecticut, Taconic State Park has two developed areas, Copake Falls and Rudd Pond.
The park offers an extensive trail system with challenging terrain and spectacular views. The various trails serve hikers, bikers, skiers and snowmobilers. Nature walks are available.
The Copake Falls Area offers cabins, tent and trailer campsites and showers for overnight visitors. The camping season is from mid-May through November.
A playground, picnic areas, beach and wading pool at Rudd Pond are favorite spots.
Iron Mine Pond, Ore Pit Pond, and Bash Bish Brook are well-known for trout fishing. Big game hunting is allowed in season.
The Copake Falls Area also offers an iron industry museum.
