Swartswood Lake, a glacial lake, provides excellent opportunities for water recreation. Summer months find Swartswood Lake and Little Swartswood Lake bright with sailboats and fishing boats, while a sheltered cove in Swartswood Lake is filled with swimmers.
The swimming area at Swartswood boasts safe, clean and clear water as a result of a model Watershed Management Program. For anglers, there is an abundance of large hold over brown trout and walleye.
An entry fee is charged from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend.
There is a mile-long wheelchair-accessible trail.
The park, which covers 2,272 acres, offers several hiking trails and 65 tent and trailer sites with a fire ring, picnic table and lantern holder.
