Two Rivers State Recreation Area is located just off NE 92, one mile south and one mile west of Venice. Two Rivers is a popular way station for canoe-campers enjoying a four-day trek along the 55-mile segment of the Platte River that is a designated Nebraska Canoe Trail.
Campers may choose from five areas totaling 330 campsites, 113 with electrical hookups.
In addition, the Game and Parks Commission outfitted 10 old Union Pacific Railroad cabooses for overnighters. Each has air conditioning, full kitchen and plumbing, and can sleep up to six.
Two Rivers has about 650 acres of land area and several man-made lakes that total 320 acres. Trout Lake is one of the few Nebraska lakes offering trout fishing. It also has a pier that is wheelchair-accessible.
There are three hiking trails and the 1.5-mile wooded road is popular with walkers and bicyclists. The park offers bike rentals in summer.
Deer, rabbits and foxes are among the wildlife found along this stretch of the Platte River.
