Lake McConaughy is Nebraska's largest reservoir, with nearly 36,000 acres of water. The lake is 22 miles long and, at its widest point, four miles across.
The area features two state recreation areas offering a variety of activities.
This is prime fishing territory, with rainbow trout, channel catfish, walleye and white bass. Other recreational activities include water and jet skiing, sailing and windsurfing.
Visitors enjoy 100 miles of sandy beaches and the park's camping areas.
A park entry permit is required and a camping fee is charged.
