South of Billings on the western edge of the Crow Native American Reservation is Chief Plenty Coups State Park.
Chief Plenty Coups was the last chief of the Crow nation. His log home and store are testaments to his efforts to lead his people through changing times. The story of his life and the rich history of the Crow people are featured in the park’s museum.
The park is also popular for its birds and wildlife-watching, and there is some fishing in Pryor Creek.
The interpretive center and restrooms are wheelchair-accessible.
Entry is free for Montana residents.
