This recreation area overlooking Saginaw Bay encompasses Bay City State Park and the Tobico Marsh State Game Area.
Naturalists explore the marsh, renowned for its wildlife and wetland bird populations, on five miles of hiking trails and a marsh boardwalk. Two 30-foot observation towers offer a birds-eye view of this rich habitat.
Parts of the Tobico Marsh area are open to hunting on a limited basis. Other parts are designated as wildlife refuges.
The state park takes full advantage of its setting on Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay. There's a swimming beach, and anglers take pike, perch, sunfish and bass.
A nature trail leaves the park nature center and circles Tobico Lagoon. There's good fishing in the lagoon.
