Horseshoe-shaped Harbor Island, which sits in Lake Huron's Potagannissing Bay, supports a wide variety of wildlife.
Access is by boat only. Boaters should be wary as weather conditions on Lake Huron can be treacherous, particularly in winter.
Island habitats include a marsh-lined harbor in the center, sandy beaches and mature stands of balsam fir, white cedar, paper birch, sugar maple and red oak.
Shoreline visits and hunting are the primary recreational uses.
