This park has one of the few remaining tracts of old-growth white pine forests in the Midwest.
To help visitors understand the history and ecology of this site, the Michigan Forest Visitor Center and a logging museum offer educational displays and programs.
The 9,672-acre park also offers campsites, hiking and mountain biking trails, and fishing.
Camping facilities are open from April through October, with modern toilets open late April through mid-October, depending on weather conditions.
Many of the park’s facilities and activities are wheelchair-accessible.
