The ultimate camping getaway is an island. Load the boat with the bare essentials and when night falls, sleep to the gentle lapping of waves. Located in Chesapeake Bay near the mouth of the Middle River, Hart-Miller Island State Park is one of those island havens. The western shore has safe mooring, wading and access to a 3,000-foot sandy beach. Visitors can fish, picnic and swim. Primitive campsites are available for overnight visitors.
