Visitors at Levi Jackson State Park walk in the footsteps of 200,000 settlers who followed the Wilderness Road into Kentucky. They can also retrace Daniel Boone's history-making blaze on Boone's Trace.
In all, the park has four trails, offering 8.5 miles of hiking.
Steeped in history, Levi Jackson is also the site of one of Kentucky's bloodiest Native American massacres. The Mountain Life Museum depicts the life of early settlers through a restored pioneer village, open April to October.
McHargue's Mill is a working grist mill surrounded by one of the world's largest displays of millstones.
The park also has a 146-site year-round campground, a miniature golf course, and swimming pool.
