Greenbo Lake State Resort Park preserves the pristine beauty of the Kentucky hills that inspired poet Jesse Stuart, a lifelong resident of the area.
Visitors enjoy the beautiful fieldstone Jesse Stuart Lodge that features 36 rooms for overnight accommodations, gift shop, dining room, and group sales, which caters to meetings and banquets. The lodge’s library and reading room holds Jesse Stuart’s personal mementos and works.
Sleep in the great outdoors at one of Greenbo Lake’s 63 campsites with electric and water hookups, or tent camp in it’s primitive camping area, open all year round.
Greenbo Lake’s marina, open April 1 to October 31, offers 65 open slips, rental pontoon boats, motorboats, and canoes.
This 225-acre lake held two state largemouth bass records. The lake is home to large bluegill, crappie, catfish, and trout.
Hiking trails provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy beautiful Greenbo forest. There 25 miles of self guided trails, ranging from easy to difficult, plus self guided horse, mountain bike, and camping trails.
The park offers miniature golf, tennis and basketball courts, bicycle rentals, playgrounds, and picnic shelters.
The park hosts many special events throughout the year, including the Collis P. Huntington Railroad Show in March, the Jesse Stuart weekend in September, the Greenbo Craft Show in October, and Antique Show in November.
