Skirting the Solomon River Valley of north central Kansas, Webster State Park offers a prairie setting of rolling hills and spacious skies along the shores of Webster Reservoir.
The 3,700 acres of open water offers good boating, swimming and windsurfing. It is home to walleye, wipers, bass, crappie and channel catfish. Rainbow trout are stocked in the Stilling Basin below the dam in winter. Fishing derbies are held yearly.
Wildlife watchers explore a nature trail and often see mule and white-tailed deer, turkeys, bobwhite quail, pheasants and many wildflowers hidden among the mosaic of prairie grasses.
Food plots have been established to enhance wildlife viewing. A summer interpretive program highlights area wildlife and other conservation topics.
Other recreational facilties include children's playgrounds, volleyball court and horseshoe pits. Cyclists must use park roads.
The park's amphitheater has been converted into a group shelter. The park has 72 equipped campsites and more than 100 primitive sites.
A log cabin is wheelchair-accessible.
