Cedar Bluff State Park straddles a 6,800-acre reservoir and provides nearly 900 acres of camping, boating, fishing, wildlife viewing and a variety of outdoor games.
The lake and an adjacent 8,000-acre wildlife area, which is distinguished by its high sandstone bluffs, make the park an excellent base camp for hunters, fishermen and hikers.
The lake is known for its walleye, crappie, black bass and bluegill. A wheelchair-accessible fishing pier is available.
The park and campground are open year-round, but water is not available in winter. There are121 campsites with utilities and numerous primitive camping areas. The park also offers two rustic cabins, each with bunkbeds, table and chairs, wood-burning stove, propane cooking stove and solar lights (but no water or electricity).
There are also three modern log cabins complete with water, electricity, heat, air and showers.
Just west of the park is Threshing Machine Canyon where Native Americans attacked a wagon train in the 1850s. Its walls still bear carvings from that time.
