Priest Lake State Park, at 2,400 feet elevation, is home to dense cedar-hemlock forests and white-tailed deer, black bear, moose and bald eagles.

The Selkirk Range towers over the park and is laced with streams tumbling down its steep slopes.

Set beside the pristine Priest River, the Dickensheet Unit of the park is a popular entry point for raft and canoe float trips downriver.

Fly fishermen in search of rainbow trout also trek to the area. Primitive camping is available.

On the east side of Priest Lake, the Indian Creek Unit offers camping, RV hookups, camper cabins, fishing, boating, waterskiing, hiking, picnicking and swimming at the large sandy beach along the lakefront.

The park's Lionhead Unit at the northeast corner of the lake hosts the site of a silent movie studio of the 1920s and the remains of a steam-powered logging tug. This unit offers tent camping, a group camp and two natural sand beaches.

Reservations for Indian Creek campsites and the group camp at Lionhead are available and recommended during the peak summer period. Reservations for camper cabins are available year-round.

The area has 300 miles of marked, groomed snowmobile trails and several miles of cross-country ski trails.
