Haena State Park contains two ancient sea caves, which legend says were built by the volcano goddess Pele.

Haena, located at the end of Hwy. 56 on the island of Kauai, also attracts snorkelers, who like to look for the tropical fish that live in the reef-protected cove. Lifeguards watch over swimmers at Kee Beach, where there's also good shore fishing.

Kee is bordered on one side by the 1,280-foot cliffs that are the beginning of the Na Pali Coast. This is where hikers find the trailhead for the 11-mile Kalalau Trail that weaves through Na Pali Coast State Park.

A popular short day trip is the two-mile (one-way) hike from Kee to Hanakapiai Valley.
