Situated in mountainous north Georgia, just two miles from the Alpine-style village of Helen, Unicoi combines natural attractions with modern lodging and recreational facilities.
Unicoi Lake, at 53 acres, offers swimming, lake fishing and boat and canoe rentals. Streams in the park offer good trout fishing.
On dry land, visitors can hike twelve miles of trails through mixed terrain, or mountain bike seven and a half miles. Wildlife is abundant. Adjacent U.S. Forest Service lands offer additional hiking, biking and camping activities.
Accommodations at Unicoi range from the basic to the plush, with 30 cottages, a 100-room lodge and 84 campsites. There is a camp store and a buffet-style restaurant.
The park also features an Appalachian craft shop. Virtually all the items are handmade by regional artisans, and a special point of pride is one of the largest selections of handmade quilts in the Southeast.
