In the early 1800s, this site was a prosperous industrial town with several stores, a grist mill, cotton gin, blacksmith shop, shoe factory and hotel.
High Falls became a ghost town in the 1880s when a major railroad bypassed the community and sealed its fate.
Today, visitors to this 995-acre park enjoy the scenic waterfall on the Towaliga River and hike to the remnants of the grist mill. Camping, fishing and swimming are also available. Campsites range from rustic to RV sites.
The 650-acre lake provides some of the best bass fishing in the state. There is a 10 hp limit on boat motors.
